Authentic Assessment Strategies in Early Childhood

Class Description: This online course helps early childhood educators understand and use authentic assessment in their classrooms. Participants will discover how to observe and document children’s progress, interpret the data, and involve families. The class covers why assessment is important, how to create an assessment plan, and how to put it into practice.

Objectives:
As a result of this class, participants will be able to:

  • recognize the significance of authentic assessment in early childhood
  • understand the purpose and steps of the authentic assessment cycle in early childhood education
  • comprehend authentic assessment techniques, including observation, documenting progress, interpreting data, and communicating findings with families

Course Requirements:
